Welcome To My Corner Of The Cross Stitching World!

I love cross stitch, chocolate, tea, exercise and my heating pad under a pile of blankets. I am a little ADD and extremely busy with life so don't always post as I should. I usually only update with new stitching accomplishments but, may try to blog a little more in the near future. HOWEVER, if you are here visiting me, I hope I can make you smile and bring joy to your life even for a brief second.

After all, isn't life a bunch of brief seconds running after each other to weave the story of our life?

Peppermint Twist Stitch Along

So excited to start something new and pretty. Went with a beautiful fabric choice for the Peppermint Twist SAL. The threads pop off the fabric. Been looking forward to stitching all day. Need to get off this computer and get started.
So sore from teaching a hard exercise class last night. Had a policeman in the class challenge me to a hard work out. Guess who called me whining today about how sore he was. Did I admit to him how sore I was? Of course not, it's a woman thing!

2009 Stitching Resolutions

Haven't you heard if you write your goals down and tell someone about it, you are more apt to stick to achieving your goals?

Goal 1: Well, the first week of December was spent organizing ALL my stitching stash. It took me about a total of 12 hours to get it like I wanted. I compiled all my UFO's and as of December 7th, I had 28! What a shame! One project was started when my firstborn was a few weeks old. She is now 18. I told my husband that 2009 would be spent making a dent in the UFO pile. So, along with finishing a few ornie exchanges and a RR, I completed a few UFO's and as of this date, I am now down to 25.

Goal 2: I have also joined a SAL for the first time. It is Blue Ribbon Designs', "Peppermint Twist". I am excited about it and love the design. I plan to finish it in the next few months.

Goal 3: I plan to stitch at least one Christmas ornie and do some type of finishing to it each month. I have so many designs I want to do. I feel this is the best way to get some of them done.

Goal 4: To slow up on my stitching purchases until I can knock out some of the above 3 goals.

Do I expect anyone to believe Goal 4? That's the ONLY one I did not write down or state outloud to anyone. You think I'm crazy?

I'M BACK!!

Been gone so long, I forgot how to post. Had to play around till I got it right! Where do I begin?
Graduated from school in April and passed my state board exam. Now an official aesthetician. WhoooooooHoooooo. Hit the ground running. Been working 60-65 hours a week since. been training on lasers and thermage treatments. hope to get back to a normal (is there such a thing?) 40 hour work week.
stitching has been almost non-existent. working here and there on a sampler to give to my best friend for her wedding (which was july 10) oh well, true love waits, so she'll be waiting on the sampler.
watched a movie over my vacation last week called, The Making Of An American Quilt. it was a great movie and inspired me to design a quilt or two of my own life. Till next post........

Esthetician School-1st Week

Wow, have enjoyed my 1st week of esthetics school more than I thought I would. There are 9 other girls/women in class with me and we all get along with much fun and laughter. I have already learned 3/4 of the European Facial and made a 100 on my first test. I am very excited. I stay in Columbia during the week and come home on the weekends. I also joined Gold's Gym and have started exercising and eating a little better. I have not had much time to stitch. When I have a little time, I have been too tired to pick up the needle. I plan to start back tonight. I went to Down Sunshine Lane's web page and saw some cute designs just released. I ordered the chart "Home of A Needleworker" and felt it got my creative juices flowing. I appreciate everyone's comments to my posts. I wish I could talk with everyone or at least email more often, but just know, my Cross Stitch Pals, that I think of EVERYONE all the time. Wishing everyone love and happiness.

Not off to a good start!

Wow, talk about big plans for a blog and only posting once! The story of my busy life.
Got engaged on Christmas Day. Shawn got on one knee and asked me in front of my 2 girls. We cried and laughed. The ring is beautiful. (see pic) We have not set a date yet.

Start esthetician school Jan.21 for 13 weeks in Columbia, SC. A 1 1/2 hour drive one way. Plan on finding someone to stay with a few nights during the week. Excited about going to school but, still wish I was financially able to just stay home designing stitching patterns and stitching all my projects that I have purchased along the years.

I am enjoying my very first RR and am working on the second of 10 parts to the project. Should have taken picture of first but, passed it along to Amy of Down Sunshine Lane (my favorite place to stash shop). Accidentally stitched hers first but am almost finished with the one I should have started with. I am also currently working on a beautiful project of scissors that I will post at some point. Oh well, time for bed!!
